Clyde Knight

February 9, 1919 — February 26, 2005

Clyde " Jack " J. Knight, 86, of Zanesville, Ohio went to be with the Lord, Saturday, February 26, 2005 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born February 9, 1919, in Wellston, Ohio a son of the late Earl Knight and raised by his late mother, Kathryn Knight Leake and step-father, John R. Leake. He was employed by Mosaic Tile for 25 years and retired from Anchor Glass in Zanesville. He proudly served his country as a U. S. Army Veteran in World War II.. He was a member of Maranatha Bible Church. Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Dorothy Snelling Knight, whom he married May 20, 1940, two children, Larry (Nancy ) Knight of Brazil, IN., and Sondra (Charles) Lewis of Zanesville, Grandchildren, Roxanne Lewis (John Hillis) Bryan ( Sheri ) Lewis and Kevin Lewis all of Zanesville, Ruth ( Mike ) Eslinger, Larry (Kim) Knight of Brazil, IN, Naomi ( Phillip) Vice, Leah (Jed) Gobin, Sarah (Phillip) Cusick all of Paris, IL., twelve great grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Marge Leake of Zanesville. Besides his parents and step-father he was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Fred, and Gene Leake . Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Monday, February 28, 2005 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2005 at the Maranatha Bible Church, 2400 Chandlersville Road, Zanesville with Pastors, L. Dale McCallister, Ronald J. Smith and Treg Spicer officiating. Friends may call one hour prior at the church. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery. VFW George Selsam Post 1058 will hold full military rites at the grave.
