Clyde O. Wills

Clyde O. Wills, 92, of Zanesville, died at 2:01 P.M. on Sunday, November 3, 2013, at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born June 8, 1921, in Zanesville, a son of the late Harry E. and Mayme McCloy Wills. He was a World War II United States Army Veteran who served during the Battle of the Bulge. He retired as a Carpenter with Rockwell International after 22 years, had previously worked as a Security Guard at Ohio Power Philo Plant for 15 years, and had sold real estate in the 1960's for Clarence M. Goelz Realty. Clyde was a member of VFW Post #1058, and of the 99th Infantry Division Association. He was Baptist by faith. Surviving are his wife Vivian M. Cagle Wills of the home; a son David C. (Diane) Wills of Cambridge; a daughter Connie L. (Eugene) Sullivan of Newark; four grandchildren Jason (Vickie) Wills of Lima, Jennifer (Rick) Ciborek of Grove City, Suzanne (Dustin) Cody of Newark, and Angela (Ben) Foo of Nashville, TN; seven great grandchildren Trey, Trevor, Jensen, Joely, Ashlen, Oliver, and Amelia; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers Raymond Wills, Francis Wills, Charles Merriam, and Russell Merriam; and four sisters Ruth Merriam, Flossie Gee, Hazel Neff, and Lalla Pomeroy. Friends and family may call from 4:00-8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville, where funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 6, 2013, with Deacon Frank Sullivan officiating. He will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery, Zanesville, with full military services being conducted by the U.S. Army in conjunction with VFW George Selsam Post #1058.
