Cody Lee Hiestand

Cody L. Hiestand, 43, of Zanesville, died on Sunday, August 12, 2018 at his home. He was born January 2, 1975, in Zanesville, a son of the late Harry Bruce and Ophelia Hernandez Hiestand. Cody was employed by Dollar General, prior to that he graduated from the police academy at Zane State. After graduation he started working for the Licking County Sheriff's office in the jail and was promoted to road patrol and then left the sheriff's office to take care of his ailing parents full-time. Cody was a member of the FOP and enjoyed video games. He was a very private person, however, when you got to know him he had a Heart of Gold. Surviving are a brother, York R. (Jennifer) Hiestand and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends and family may call from 5-8 P.M. Thursday, August 23, 2018 at BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, August 24, 2018 at the funeral home with William L. Meaige as celebrant. Cody will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery, Zanesville with his beloved parents.
