Dale W. Harry, Sr., 57, of Zanesville died at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 28, 2005 at his home. He was born December 3, 1947 in Zanesville, a son of the late Earl Clyde and Neva Eloise Nelson Harry. Dale was a machinist for Owens Brockway Glass for 291/2 years. He attended Woodlawn Church of Christ, was a U.S. Army Veteran of Vietnam, was a member of the VFW George Selsam post 1058, American Legion Post 29, longtime coach and supporter of South Rebels Biddy League Football, active in Y-City Little League, member of Glass Blowers Association of Brockway Glass, avid golfer, enjoyed the Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Reds and the Ohio State Buckeyes. Dale enjoyed riding and repairing 4-wheelers. Surviving are his loving wife, Sondra S. Smith Harry, whom he married January 2, 1970, fours sons, Scott and wife Meredith, Craig, Dale Jr. And wife, Susie, Bryan and wife Martie all of Zanesville, seven grandchildren, Jeromy, Kirsten, Cameron, Darby, Darcy, Taylor and Paige, two brothers, twin brother, Gale Harry of Zanesville and Mike (Crick) Harry of Mesquite, Texas, two sisters, Sharon (George) Grimes of Zanesville and Judy (Bob) Snyder of Columbus, his lifelong friend, Jim (Mona) Powell of Zanesville, two special nephews who he called his own, Gene Grimes and Keith Shrider, his granddog Buddy, his mother-in-law, Virginia K. Smith of Zanesville and his brother-in-law, Danny (Cathy) Smith of Zanesville and many other special nieces, nephews and cousins of his extended family . Friends may call 2-4& 6-8 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2005 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 2, 2005 at the funeral home with Rev. Roy Keyser officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Zanesville with VFW George Selsam Post 1058 holding full military rites at the grave. Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association.
