Dale R. McGee, 71, of New Lexington, died at 2:04 P.M. on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Genesis Hospital Emergency Room, Zanesville. He was born March 11, 1947, in Zanesville, a son of the late Floyd D. and Helen Messerly McGee. He was a United States Air Force Veteran Airman First Class serving during Vietnam. He received the Air Force Commendation Medal for his energetic application of knowledge playing a significant role in contributing to the success of the United States Air Force mission in Southeast Asia. He Dale was a retired truck driver for Hale Trucking in Columbus and was also an Owner-Operator for many companies throughout his career. He loved horseback riding, John Wayne movies, and his family. He was member of the Dresden American Legion Post 399 and a fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns. He is survived by a son, David Virgil (Jill) McGee of New Lexington; two grandchildren, Anna Marilyn and Marshall David McGee; and a sister, Mary Ripple of Dresden. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Wanda McGee. A Cremation-With-Care will take place and calling hours will be held from 1:00 P.M. to the time of Memorial Service at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, OHIO with Rev. Charles Norris officiating. VFW George Selsam Post 1058 and American Legion Post 29 will hold military services at the funeral home at 3:00 P.M. Private inurnment will take place at Muskingum Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Nashport.
