Dave Joseph Sr.

Dave Joseph Sr., 75, of Zanesville, former owner of Dave's Union Bar, went to be with Jesus on August 6, 2012 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born May 7, 1937 in Zanesville, to the late Eddie Sr. and Fahema Nassif Joseph. His love and concern for people always shined through, even during his illness. Many people knew him as "Good Ole Dave". Our family knew him as a wonderful husband, dad, grandfather, and friend. He was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church. Dave was a founder of the Senior Citizens Christmas dinner, and also along with his son Mike, founder of Police Athletic League (P.A.L.). He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Shirley Wise Joseph; three sons, Dave Jr., Mike, and Chris (Mindy) Joseph; three grandchildren, Mike, Emily & Jordan; several nieces and nephews; many friends; and a special kitty cat. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Eddie Jr., Eugene, and Donald; and two sisters, Willamean & Theckla. Friends and family may call from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 9, 2012 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 10, 2012, at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Zanesville.
