David H. "Fritz" Dale, 65, of South Zanesville, who gave the gift of life as a organ donor, died at 8:20 A.M. on Friday, August 30, 2013, at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital emergency room. He was born January 16, 1948, in Zanesville, a son of Sara Birkhimer Dale McDaniel and the late David Dale. He was a Vietnam Veteran and worked at Ohio Ferro Alloys until it closed then worked at Arc Designer Hardwoods for 15 years. Fritz enjoyed fishing, scratching off his lottery tickets, and playing cards with his family. Surviving are his wife, Mary Fleming Dale, whom he married May 15, 1971; his mother and step-father, Sara and Harry McDaniel of South Zanesville; two sons, Kenneth Dale and Michael (Jen) Dale all of South Zanesville; a daughter, Tammy (Jeff) Tipton of Crooksville; two grandchildren, Walker Dale and Sarah Dale; his beloved granddog, Ozzie Tipton; a brother, Allen (Marsha) Griffin of South Zanesville; two brothers-in-law, Kevin Fleming and Jeff Fleming both of Zanesville; special Aunt, Kay Farley of Zanesville; a uncle, Bill ( Jean) Dale of Gratiot, all his very special friends at South Zanesville Pick-N-Save and several cousins. No calling hours will be held. A memorial services will be held at a later date. The Dale family has selected the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home and Crematory, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville, to perform a dignified cremation at their Y-City Crematory.
