David L. "Fred" DeVolld, 69, of Zanesville, died at 11:22 a.m. Sunday, March 19, 2006 at Genesis Good Samaritan hospital. He was born February 8, 1937, in Zanesville, a son of the late Edmond DeVolld and Helen Wright DeVolld Cheathem. He was a retired painter for Myers and Watters Painting Contractors and delivered parts for McHugh Jeep. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, past member of the Zanesville Bowling Association and was inducted into the Zanesville Bowling Association Hall of Fame and he enjoyed bowling. Surviving are his wife, Ann Fountain DeVolld, whom he married August 19, 1956, of the home, three sons, Richard (Karen) DeVolld, James (Sherrie) DeVolld and David A. (Krista) DeVolld, all of Zanesville, OH., a step-mother, Virgene DeVolld of Zanesville, OH., eight grandchildren; Kevin DeVolld, Allison DeVolld, Jessica Rock, Austin DeVolld, Elizabeth Cook, Heather Cook, Joey Cook and Anna DeVolld, three step-brothers, Brett (Darlene) DeVolld of Columbus, OH, Bart (Debbie) DeVolld of St. Clairsville, OH. and Blake (Myra) DeVolld of Springfield, OH. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby and Richard DeVolld. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville, OH., where funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2006 with Rev. Reginald Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
