David L. Geyer Sr.

David L. Geyer Sr., 65, of Zanesville, died at 9:57 A.M. on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at the Genesis Emergency Room. He was born October 18, 1957, in Zanesville. David was a Veteran of the United States Army and was a long time employee at Good Samaritan Hospital, and also worked for Byrd Ambulance as a paramedic for over 20 years. He loved his Ohio State Buckeyes and spending time with his grandchildren, and could always be found cooking something up in the kitchen.

He is survived by his wife Patricia (Ross) Geyer, whom he married June 11, 1977; his children, Heather (Mike) Noss, Elizabeth (Jason) Mills, David (Katie) Geyer Jr. and adopted son Tom Dereskiewicz; grandchildren, Ayla Noss, Brianne (Kaleb) Sowers, Avery Noss, Jayden Wofter, Olivia Geyer, Carter Mills, Lani Mills, Grayson Geyer, Dalilah Geyer and Hadley Mills; great grandson Everett Richards; beloved dog Maxwell; three sisters, Debbie Kraus, Peggy Tracy and Diane Geyer; and a brother Richard Geyer.

He was preceded in death by his mother who raised him, Jean Geyer; mother-in-law Dorothy Berkshire; father-in-law Louis Ross; brother-in-law John Krause Sr.; niece Lisa Tracey; and a nephew Johnny Krause Jr.

Friends and family may call from 4:00-7:00 P.M. on Friday, February 24, 2023, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, where full military honor will be accorded to him by the United States Army in conjunction with VFW George Selsam Post #1058 at 9:50 A.M. on Saturday, February 25, 2023, followed by the funeral service at 10:00 A.M. with Pastor David Nuhfer officiating. He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery, Sonora, at a later date.
