David E. Jones Sr.

David E. Jones Sr., 57, of Sonora, died at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at his residence. He was born May 2, 1951, in Zanesville, a son of the late Harold E. and Rita V. Kain Jones. He was a former employee of Wendy's New Bakery. He was a member of VFW George Selsam Post #1058 and was a United States Navy Vietnam veteran. He loved camping, family and friends. Surviving are his loving wife of 32 years, Alice M. Scott Jones, whom he married June 11, 1976, of the home; two sons, David (Heather) Jones Jr. of Sonora and Jason Jones of the home; two sisters, Peggy (Bill) Frick of Zanesville and Beth (Ray) Mills of Crooksville; a brother, Edward (Kelly) Jones of Zanesville; and a grandson, Mason Jones of Sonora. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Michael Clark Jr. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. today, March 20, 2009 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, March 21, 2009 at the funeral home with Pastor Chuck Gamble officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery, Sonora.
