David “Brian” Lackey, of Zanesville, OH, and Crystal Lake, IL, passed away unexpectedly October 13, 2021, at home. He was born May 3, 1957, in Sikeston, MO, to William and Sue Lackey who survive him. A 1975 graduate of Zanesville High School, Brian worked for the City of Zanesville Sanitation Department and later for Process Engineering in Crystal Lake, IL. He was an avid sports fan and golfer, considering himself the #1 Cincinnati Bengals fan. Brian also followed Da Bears and the Chicago Blackhawks. He dearly loved his family and friends and recently enjoyed a “guys” trip to Las Vegas. Brian leaves behind his wife of 40 years, Marianne and two children Kristen Lackey and Lauren (Eric) Gerdes. He is also survived by a sister, Deb Lussier; brother-in-law John (Teresa) Smitley; and sister-in-law Myra (Del) Warne. Brian loved spending time with his grandchildren Quentin, Jonathan, Mia, and Harley Lackey, twins Alex and Noah Gerdes, and beloved nephew Ethan Lussier. He also leaves behind special friends John Hall, George Hiotis, Doug Miller Mark Still and the gang at Terry’s Tavern. Friends may call from 2-5 P.M. Saturday, October 16, 2021 at BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE. No services are planned. A special celebration of his life will be held following visitation at Terry’s Tavern.
