David E. Moore, 74, of Zanesville, died at 4:19 a.m. Sunday, September 10, 2006 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born April 28, 1932 in Zanesville a son of the late Virgil W. And Rosina Rocca Moore. David graduated from Lash High School, attended Cornerstone Full Gospel Church, retired as a Captain of the Zanesville Police Department in 1984, was a U.S. Army Korean era veteran, member of Amity Masonic Lodge, Amrou Grotto # 45, American Legion Post 726, FOP Lodge # 5 and the Ohio Retired Police Association. Surviving are his loving wife, Patricia A. "Pat" Anderson Moore, whom he married October 23, 1954, of the home, a daughter, Cathy J. (Jay) Huggins of Zanesville and a son, Michael S. (Teresa) Moore of Rose Hill, Kansas, five grandchildren; John, Jacob, Tyler Moore and J.J. and Jerry Huggins, a sister; Vivian (Albert) Nader of Zanesville, three brothers; Earl D. ( Betty) Moore of CampVerde, Arizona, Samuel D. ( Amy) Moore of Zanesville and Donald W. (Charlotte) Moore of Glenville, NC. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister; Shirley Gildow and a brother; Bobbie Moore. No calling hours will be observed, a caring cremation has taken place. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 5, 2006 at Zanesville Memorial Park with Pastor J. Stephen Harrop officiating.
