David Robbins

David L. " Sarge " Robbins, 63, of Zanesville died at 6:58 a.m. Wednesday, January 12, 2005 at Ohio State University , Ross Heart Center, Columbus, Ohio. He was born January 20, 1941 at Zanesville , a son of Ruth Rapp Wickham and the late Bernard L. Robbins. He was a career Army Veteran serving his country for 27 years with tours of duty in Korea and Vietnam. He was a member of Eagles Lodge # 302 and a member of Jaycees Golf Course and a avid golfer. Surviving are his mother and step-father, Ruth and Donald Wickham of Duncan Falls, four daughters, Julie Lynn ( Scott ) McDonald of Hampton, NH, Sandra M. Robbins of Zanesville, Penny L. Metz of Santa Cruz, CA, and Tonja E. ( Alan ) Maleski of Clarksville, TN, a son, Jon D. ( Jeannette ) Robbins of Fayettsville, NC., eleven grandchildren, four great- grandchildren, a sister, Shirley Wakely of South Zanesville, three brothers, Donald L. ( Joyce ) Robbins, Ronald Robbins and Gary Robbins all of Zanesville. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by a brother Ralph Robbins. No calling hours will be held. A caring cremation has taken place. Graveside services will take place at Greenwood Cemetery, in New Soldiers Circle with full military honors being provided by the VFW George Selsam Post 1058 at a later date. The Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville entrusted with all arrangements.
