Delbert Curtis, age 96, of Johnstown, Ohio, died at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at the Northview Nursing Home, Johnstown, Ohio. He was born December 12, 1908, in Bradford Ohio, the son of the late Jerry and Mina A. Fritz Curtis. Mr. Curtis was a retired self employed painter in the Columbus Ohio area. He was a member of the Mt. Vernon Moose and a veteran of the US Coast Guard. Surviving are three daughters, Jennifer (Charles) Ward of Pataskala Ohio, Linda Slayton of Columbus Ohio, and Shirley Sargent of Calif., one son Delbert E. (Betty) Curtis of Fl., twenty six grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie Audrey Scott Curtis, (April 1954), by three children, Barbara Ann Barnett, Jimmie K. Curtis, Jerry Curtis, several sisters and brothers, and two grandchildren. Friends may call 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2005 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville, Ohio. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 18, 2005 at the Union Cemetery, New Straitsville, Ohio
