Donald C. Baird Jr.

Donald C. Baird Jr., 80, of Zanesville, died at 12:27 A.M. Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Cedar Hill Care Center. He was born August 1, 1933 in Zanesville, a son of the late Donald C. Sr. and Helen Wilson Baird. Don retired after 42 years of service at Stanley Home Products and was a member of Brighton Presbyterian Church and a 1951 graduate of Lash High School. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Donna J. Baird, who died April 25, 1989; two brothers, William and James Baird and two sisters, Lillian Green and Ruth Armstrong. Surviving are a fiancée, Melanie Baugh of Zanesville; daughter, Cheryl (Doug) Bodkins of Hurricane, WV and a son, Robert C. (Sue) Baird Jr. of Spartanburg, SC.; six grandchildren, Douglas Bodkins, Dustin Bodkins, Darren Bodkins, Jaime Baird, Shana O'Boyle and Robert Charles Baird Jr.; and four great grandchildren. Friends and family may call from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, where funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 5, 2014 with Rev. Suellen Skinner officiating. Donald will be laid to rest besides his beloved wife Donna at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Lung Association in memory of Donald Baird.
