Donald J. Caldwell Sr. 69, of Zanesville died at 3:45 a.m. Saturday, August 16, 2008 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 9, 1938 at Muskingum County, a son of Glenda Caldwell McKee. He retired after 38 years of service at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital as the Director of the Black Lung Clinic. He also was a Respiratory Therapist and served in the Cardio-Pulmonary Department. He was a member of New Hope Lutheran Church in Adamsville, a member of the Muskingum Valley Boating Association, Salt Creek Beagle Club and a member of the Moose Lodge. Surviving are his loving wife, Marilyn A. Wilson Caldwell , whom he married August 30, 1959 of the home, three daughters; Cindy ( Stan) Watson, Martie Tom and Tina Marie Caldwell all of Zanesville; a son, Donald J. ( Judy) Caldwell Jr. of Adamsville; 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, a brother, Larry ( Joyce) Caldwell of Mt. Sterling and a special friend, John Tipton of South Zanesville. He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Glenda and Arthur McKee. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Monday, August 18, 2008 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at the funeral home with Rev. Mark Noe officiaitng. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery, Adamsville, Ohio.
