Donald R. Davis

Donald R. Davis, 84, of Zanesville, died at 9:48 A.M. on Tuesday, August 6, 2013, at his home. He was born December 25, 1928, in Zanesville, a son of the late Fletcher and Bessie Mae Lucas Davis. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict, and he retired as a supervisor from Brockway Glass where he had worked for 41 years. Donald was a member of Market Street Baptist Church and loved to volunteer for Genesis Healthcare Systems, contributing more than 4,000 hours of service. Surviving are his wife, Marilyn Reese Davis, whom he married June 8, 1951, of the home; a daughter Diana K. Davis of Zanesville; a son Richard A. (Diane) Davis of Zanesville; two grandchildren Lindsay (Jarret) Daniels and Jenny D. Rose, all of Zanesville; and great grandchildren Nicholas, Caitlin, Jayce, and Dayne. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters Edna Mount and Vivian Warner; and three brothers, Ralph, Kenny, and Glen Davis. Friends and family may call from 2:00-4:00 P.M. & 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 8, 2013, at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, August 9, 2013, with Pastor Howard Thompson officiating. He will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville.
