Donald Jean' Lamphar, 78, of Zanesville, formerly of Waynesfield and Lima, Ohio, died at 4:22 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at the Genesis Hospice & Palliative Care of natural causes. He was born October 23, 1931, in Lima, Ohio, a son of the late Donald Jay and Ruth Watt Lamphar. On December 7, 1957 in New Hampshire, Ohio, he married Lois Ann Lamphar. Don was a graduate of New Bremen High School. He was a United States Air Force Korean War Veteran and was stationed in Korea. After his Honorable Discharge, Don was employed by Lenox, Warner & Swasey, Lima Electric, Dura Corp., and Tom Ahl Chrysler. Don was a member of the Lima Baptist Temple, Masons of Wayne Lodge #0569, Order of the Eastern Stars of Hawthorne Chapter #119 and the VFW of Lima. Don enjoyed fishing, camping, reading and his family. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Lois Ann Coates Lamphar, of the home; a daughter, Dawn Lamphar of Zanesville; a son, Lance (Lori) Lamphar of Piqua, Ohio; three grandchildren, Lindsay (JR) Maldonado of Lompoc, California, Eric Lamphar of Piqua, Ohio and Andrew Lamphar of Piqua,Ohio; and a sister.
