Donald R. McCloy, 74, of Zanesville, died at 1:33 A.M. on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House, Zanesville. He was born May 10, 1943, in Zanesville, son of the late Donald E. and Helen E. Musselman McCloy. Donald was a United States Army Veteran and a truck driver for Creative Packaging. He was a member of American Legion Post 29, an avid hunter and fisherman, a creative story teller, and a member of the National Rifle Association. He is survived by his wife, Sandra B. Glaub McCloy whom he married October 1, 1966; three daughters, Stacy Lang, Lisa Newsom, Jennifer (Anthony) Johnson; a grandson, Pvt. E-2 S. Michael (Abby) Newsom, Jr.; five granddaughters, Kaitlan (Chris) Fleming, Ashlan Lang, Blake Newsom, Laiken Foster, and Ayven Johnson; two great-grandsons, Traycen Lang and Bennett Fleming; a brother, Kevin (Mindy) McCloy; two sisters, Trudy (Dean) Stimpson and Linda Little; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his loving furry friend, Maggie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Karen McLean. Memorial contributions may be made to Genesis Hospice-Morrison House, 713 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, OH 43701.
