Donald C Schultheis

Donald C. Schultheis, 88, of South Zanesville, passed away at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital, joining his wife of 54 years, Ann E. Willison Schultheis, who passed away July 8, 2000. He was born October 31, 1921, in Zanesville, a son of the late Carl and Ida Schultheis. He was a graduate of Lash High School. He retired as a long time employee of C.W. Taylor & Company. He was a life long member of the Immanuel United Church of Christ, a charter member of the Springfield Township Lions Club, a lifetime member of VFW George Selsam Post #1058, and a life member of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craft Workers. He was a faithful spectator and sponsor of dirt-track racers and the #59 car of family members, Shane and Tanner McLoughlin and a United States Army World War II Veteran. Surviving are two sons, Stephen (Charlotte) Schultheis of Winder, Georgia and Roger E. (Barbara) Schultheis of Nashport; a sister, Ida Belle (Irvin) Ludwig of Frazeysburg; four grandchildren, Tisha (Shane) McLoughlin, Roger (Alicia) Schultheis, Christopher Hamilton, and Stephanie (Matthew) Kelly; five great grandchildren, Alyssa, Kirstyn and Tanner McLoughlin, Aden and Rohan Schultheis; and special friends of the VFW and neighbors. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Paul, Russell, George and William; and two sisters, Mildred and Margaret. Friends may call from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, July 11, 2010 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 12, 2010 at the funeral home with Pastor Mitch Reed officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery. VFW George Selsam Post #1058 will hold full military rites at the graveside.
