Donald A. Shroyer

Donald A. Shroyer, 75, of Nashport, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at 4:22 P.M. on Monday, September 21, 2015, at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House. He was born October 7, 1939, in Dresden, a son of the late Homer Shroyer and Florence Wortman Shroyer Crawford. He had worked for Shelly & Sands, was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 18, Young Farmers Association, Nashport-Irville United Methodist Church and First United Methodist Church in Frazeysburg. He enjoyed gardening, sharing his produce with family, friends and neighbors, and loved taking care of elderly people in need. Surviving are his wife, Kip Legat Shroyer, whom he married March 14, 1998; four sons, Bryan, Kevin (Lori), Gregg and Scott; stepchildren Tiffany and Todd; grandchildren, Heath, Kylie, Chase, Jacob, Carson and Sean; eight great grandchildren; brothers Bernard, Dwayne (Treva), Richard (Mary), Andy (Amy) and David (Debbie); sisters Jean (Bill), Dianne (Fred) and Marsha; the mother of his children Lucy Younkins; many nieces and nephews; and his loving pets Joseph Allan, Jake Ann and Kate Ann. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson Austin Douglas; sister Edna Cox; father-in-law and mother-in-law Randy and Kathryn Odell; and his loving dog Shilo Ann. Friends and family may call from 2:00-4:00 P.M. & 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 23, 2015, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 24, 2015, with Rev. Jeff Belt officiating. He will be laid to rest at Irville Cemetery, Nashport.
