Dora L. Upton

Dora Louise Upton, 88 of Zanesville, died at 6:15 p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2009 at Summerville at North Hills. She was born April 15, 1921, in Frazeysburg, the daughter of the late Ray and Bessie Bagent Fulks. She was a member of the Euclid Avenue United Methodist Church, past member of the Zanesville Country Club, served on committees of the American Cancer Society, was member of the Junior Women's Club, was a realtor with the former Fox Realty and an avid golfer. Surviving are her husband, William R. Upton, of the home, whom she married November 9, 1940; three daughters, Karen and Mervin McCoy of Zanesville, Kathy and Curtis Minger of Columbus and Kristie Waltz of Gahanna; a son, Kevin and Beth Upton of Zanesville; two sisters, Bobbie Freshwater of Zanesville and Betty Bebout of Newark; 10 grandchildren, Michael (Caren) McCoy, Kelly Foster, Bethany (Tom) Demidovich, Jay (Lisa) Green, Andrew (Karen) Green, Brady (Lisa) Waltz, Kara Waltz, Katie Waltz, Ryan Waltz and Will Upton; and 13 great grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Della McDevitt; and one brother, Paul Fulks. Friends may call 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at the funeral home with the Rev. Clarence M. Dinnen officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
