Doris M. Masterson Boyd, age 86, of 1856 Adams Lane, died at 11:35 p.m. Thursday, April 7, 2005 at Adams Lane Care. She was born February 17, 1919 in Deavertown, Ohio the daughter of the late Charles James and Margaret Elizabeth Smith Paxson. Mrs. Boyd was a former 19 year employee at Kroger and later worked for a printing company in design advertising. She was a member of the Putnam Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was a member of the VFW George Selsam Post Aux.1058, the American Legion Post 29 Aux. and the Gold Star Wives and Mothers. Surviving are three daughters, Maxine (Paul) Durben of Zephyrhills FL., Nancy ( Ronald)Makin of Zanesville and Linda Frielegh of McAllen TX., two sisters, Beulah Smith and Margaret Nixon, both of Moxahala Ohio, a brother, Lester Paxson of Moxahala, seventeen grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Claude Maxwell Masterson, who died December 31, 1944, and Arthur Boyd, two sons, Jerry Masterson and Kendall Law Masterson, two sisters, Rose White and Martha Wiseman, and four brothers, Twins Marvin and Melvin Paxson, Wilbur Paxson and Elmer Paxson. Friends may call 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday April 11, 2005 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2005 with Marty Scott officiating. Burial will follow at Crooksville Cemetery, Crooksville Ohio
