Doris King, 79, of Zanesville, died at 10:45 p.m. Friday, April 24, 2009 at Adams Lane Care Center. She was born February 2, 1930 in Beardstown, Illinois, a daughter of the late Ellis Tedwell and Joicy Hurt Mathis. She married Foy Hudson at Charlotte, TN and had three children. Following their divorce she married Kenneth King. Surviving are a son, Jerry Hudson of Ashland, Tenn. and a daughter, Betty Jenkins of Goodlesville, Tenn.; several grand, & great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; a sister, Lois Wicks of Jacksonville, Illinois, half-sisters, Helen Wiseman of Burns, Tenn., Mary E. Nader of Zanesville; half brother, Victor Tidwell of Tempe, AZ.; a half-sister, Juanita Tidwell of Springfield, Illinois, very special friends, Julie Campbell of Zanesville, who was always there for her and brought her so much happiness, Ann and Ken Defrates of Jacksonville, Illinois, Mike McGuire of Zanesville who visited and prayed for her, Dick Franklin of Zanesville who was such a good neighbor and friend to her. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth King, who died October 16, 1996 and a daughter, Geraldine Brown; a granddaughter, Tammy Brown; a brother, Neil Tidwell. Doris loved her family, friends, animals and like to travel, read and crochet. She was a lifetime member of the Maple Grove Baptist Church in Sylvia, TN. Private funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville with Rev. Mike McGuire officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville.
