Doris M. Kreis

Doris M. Kreis, 80, of Zanesville, died at 12:41 p.m. Sunday, September 20, 2009 at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House. She was born November 7, 1928, in Clinton, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Michael and Katherine Springer Palusko. She retired in 1992 after 40 years of service as an assembler for Essex Wire and was a 60 year member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. Surviving are two daughters, Peggy (Bill) McKinley of Fort Worth, Texas and Linda (Jeff) Long of Zanesville; a sister, Beryl Havelka of Clinton, Pennsylvania; 4 grandchildren, Katie and Ashley Long of Zanesville, Greg Johnson of Orangevale, California, and Brian Johnson of Newark; and 2 great grandchildren, Nathan Johnson of Orangevale, California and Kelsey Johnson of Newark. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy W. Kreis, who died in April 2000; a sister, Arlene Palusko; and a brother, Ronald Palusko. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 24, 2009 at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 128 S 7th St., Zanesville with Rev. Kelly Reagan officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Genesis Hospice & Palliative Care, 713 Forest Ave., Zanesville, Ohio, 43701 in memory of Doris Kreis. The family wishes to extend their thanks to their mother's care givers at the Morrison House.
