Doris Mae (Mcconnell) Waltermire

Doris Mae McConnell Waltermire, 88 of Zanesville died at 1:37 A.M. Sunday, February 14, 2016 at Genesis Hospital Zanesville. She was born on August 17, 1927 in Monroe County, Ohio, a daughter of the late Harold and Freda Hines McConnell. She retired from Co-Operative Casket Company that she co-owned with her husband Jim. She was a member of Immanuel Church of Downtown Zanesville. She loved cooking for family and friends, boating and camping, Canasta Card Club and especially gardening. Surviving are a daughter, Susie Waltermire of Zanesville; two sons, Denny Waltermire of Grove City, and Bruce (Terry Jo) Waltermire of Walton, Kentucky; six granddaughters, Jodi (Derek) Dozer, April (Doug) Stemen, Brandy McElhaney, Karen Waltermire, Brittney Waltermire and Alisha Waltermire; eight great grandchildren, Drake, Mason and Rileigh Dozer, Mikaela and Colton Stemen and Jakob and Kalob McElhaney and Nyla McBride; a brother, Gary (Carol) McConnell of Lowell and two nephews, Tracey and Tom (Ginger) McConnell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years ,James G. Waltermire whom she married June 17, 1947. Friends and family may call from 5-8 P.M. Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE where funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 17, 2016, with Pastor Mitch Reed officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband Jim at Duncan Falls Cemetery, Duncan Falls.
