Dorothy C. Anderson, 85, of Brownsville, died at 8:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 1, 2016, at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House. She was born August 2, 1931 in Putnam, Connecticut, daughter of the late Joseph Francis and Doris Adams Carlen. She worked at Willow Haven Nursing Home, was a member of New Life Apostolic Church in Glenford, was an avid bird watcher, loved to crochet and be outdoors. She is survived by five sons, John (Leslie) Hardy, Frank Updegrave, John William (Laura) Updegrave, Earl John Updegrave, and Joseph F. (Rose) Updegrave ; three daughters, Darlene (Larry) Thompson, and Heidi (Scott) Abel, Jeany (Jim) Norman; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. In addition to parents, she is preceded in death by previous husband, Alfred Anderson, who died September 11, 2008. Friends and family may call from 11:00-1:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 3, 2016, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE where funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. ,with Reverend Dan Hill officiating. She will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville.
