Dorothy M. Decker, 86, of Zanesville, died at 1:37 a.m. Thursday, March 5, 2009 at Cedar Hill Care Center. She was born July 17, 1922, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Clarence and Lillian Friesinger Sommers. Dorothy retired from the laundry department for Genesis Good Samaritan hospital and she was a member of Cornerstone Full Gospel Church. Surviving are a daughter, Kathryn (Charles) Addis of Zanesville; two sisters, Elizabeth Kessler of Kissimmee, Florida and Nancy (Daniel) Rarick of Zanesville; three brothers, Walter (Darlene) Sommers of Sterling, Virginia, Conrad Sommers and Robert (Karen) Sommers, both of Zanesville; a grandson, Justin Michael Stevens of Zanesville; and a great grandson, Justin Michael Stevens Jr. of Zanesville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Herbert Addis; her second husband, Rexford D. Decker; a brother, Charles Sommers; and a sister, Mary Gill. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 9, 2009 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville with Pastor Steve Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Duncan Falls Cemetery.
