Dorothy L. (Wightman) Murray

Dorothy L. Murray, 82, of Zanesville, died at 10:20 P.M. on Tuesday, October 21, 2014, at The Oaks at Northpointe. She was born May 11, 1932, in Washington Courthouse, a daughter of the late John A. and Effie I. Bunch Wightman. She had worked as a sales person for Hornes, Lazarus, the Longaberger Clothing Store, and Kohl's, was active in the Children for Christ organization, and was a member of the Maranatha Bible Church. Her family, children, and grandchildren meant everything to her. Surviving are three children, Steve (Lisa) Murray of Frazeysburg, Patty (James) Carlson of Pataskala, and Rick (Mary Kay) Murray of Frazeysburg; five grandchildren, Joy (Thomas) Yocum, Nicole (Greg) Sceurman, Brian (Deanna) Murray, Casey (Devon Hendrickson) Murray, and Adam Murray; six great grandchildren, Clayton, Wyatt, Andrew, Jocelyn, Shaylan, Dominic, Alexia, and Emma; two brothers, Jimmy Wightman, and Robert Lee Carpenter; six sisters, Jane Lytle, Jane Ann Massie, Linda Finley, Katherine Kovach, Karen Kimmey, and Edna Mae Wightman; the father of her children, Raymond Murray of Buckeye Lake; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and church family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by seven brothers; two sisters; and her step-father John Carpenter. Friends and family may call from 2:00-4:00 P.M. & 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Friday, October 24, 2014, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 25, 2014, with Pastor L. Dale McCallister officiating. She will be laid to rest at Frazeysburg Cemetery, Frazeysburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association: 5455 N. High Street, Columbus, OH 43214.
