Dorothy I. Painter

Dorothy I. Painter, age 91, of Zanesville, Ohio, died at 9:58 p.m. Sunday, February 20, 2005 at the Whetstone Care Center, Columbus, Ohio. She was born October 16, 1913, in Zanesville, the daughter of the late James William and Dorothy B. Johnson Thomas. Mrs. Painter was a lifelong member of the Coburn United Methodist Church and its Mildred Butler Circle, a member of the Women's Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Erie 302, the Senior Bethesda League, Junior Women and many other civic and service organizations. Surviving are her daughter, Dorothy S. "Dottie" Painter, of Westerville Ohio, a special niece, Ann Carr of Zanesville, and a special friend, Marya C. Kolman of Westerville. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell F, Painter,who died March 23, 1971 and by her loving cat, John. Friends may call 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 23, 2005 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville Ohio. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 23, 2005 with the Rev. Doris Flynn officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park.
