Dorothy Jean Pickrell Arnold Yarger, 79, of Zanesville, died at 7:35 p.m. Sunday, January 3, 2010 at the Adams Lane Care Center. She was born December 24, 1930, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Roy Amos and Mary Soller Pickrell. She was a retired secretary for the former ARC. She was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church and was a former member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Dresden. Her favorite hobbies were gardening, reading and baking cookies for her grandchildren. She enjoyed all kinds of puzzles and always had a jigsaw puzzle on the table. She loved having family picnics with extended family. Surviving are her former husband and friend, William Arnold of Dresden; four daughters, Betsey A. (Michael) Pezzee of Sheffield, MA., Barbara J. Jensen of Mt. Vernon, OH., Marla J. (Mark) Jones of Austin, TX., and Lisa J. (Ron) Elliott of Cuero, TX.; two sons, William (Billie) Arnold and Robert (Karen) Arnold, both of Frazeysburg; four sisters, Alene Plummer, Evelyn Sheets, Norma Near and Betty Drake, all of Zanesville and Marjorie Ryckman of Mansfield, OH.; 17 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her second husband, Forest E. Yarger, who died January 6, 2006; and six brothers, Bill, Dick, Ed, Ted, Jim and Freddie. Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 7, 2010 at the St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 925 Main St., Zanesville with Father Martin Ralko as celebrant. Burial will follow at Fultonham Cemetery, Fultonham, Ohio.
