Dr. Robert Crider Fenstermaker, 84, of Zanesville, died at 9:15 a.m. Friday, May 8, 2009 at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House with his loving family at his side. He was born December 4, 1924, in Zanesville, a son of the late Harvey Fenstermaker and Helen Crider O'Dowd. He graduated from Western Reserve Ohio School of Podiatry in 1953 and retired his practice in 1992 after 45 years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, VFW George Selsam Post #1058 and the Muskingum Valley Boating Association. He loved fishing and wood working. He was a World War II Navy Veteran, where he served on the USS Rueben James Destroyer. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Mary Lundell Fenstermaker of the home; a daughter, Deborah A. (Craig) Graham of Zanesville; two brothers, Allen (Sandy) Fenstermaker of Worthington and Paul (Swan) Archinal of Blackwell, Texas; a granddaughter, Kristen and fiance, David Frame of Zanesville; a great grandson, Landon Frame of Zanesville; and many nieces and nephews. No calling hours will be observed. A caring cremation has taken place. The family requests a memorial service to be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 22, 2009 at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Larry Kudart officiating.
