Dr Robert O. Vanhorn

Dr. Robert O. Van Horn, 76, of Zanesville, died at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, February 2, 2006 at his home. He was born September 19, 1929, in Zanesville, a son of the late Owen Bronson and Ada Hall Van Horn. He was a member of Trinity United Presbyterian Church, graduated from Ohio College Of Podiatric Medicine, and was a longtime Podiatrist for over 40 years, retiring in 1994. Dr. Van Horn was a vocal soloist and choir director at First Presbyterian Church on Ridge Avenue, past president of the Toastmasters Club # 257, past president of Y-city Midget League and member of Lafayette Lodge # 79 F& AM. Surviving are four sons, Douglas R. (Brenda) Van Horn of Zanesville, Craig S. ( Ursula) Van Horn of Granville, Keith J. (Patty) Van Horn and Kevin (Sandy) Van Horn both of Zanesville, seven grandchildren, Dawn Van Horn, Brian Van Horn, Adam Van Horn, Angela Van Horn, Kasey Van Horn, Erica Van Horn and Natalie Van Horn; four great grandchildren, Jaden Van Horn, Connor J. Gates, Aidan C. Cavanaugh and Camryn Jade Gates. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joy E. Spargrove Van Horn, who died November 23, 2003. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2006 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville, where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 6, 2006 with Dr. Richard Boyer officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park.
