Earl F. Caw, 87, of Zanesville, went to be with his Lord at 7:53 a.m. Friday, July 4, 2008 at the Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born Oct 28, 1920, in Mt. Zion, Kentucky, the son of the late Henery Edward and Rozetta Griffin Caw. Earl was a former supply clerk at Line Material/McGraw Edison where he worked for 38 years and was later employed by the Falls Twp. Trustees. Mr. Caw was a World War II Merchant Marine Veteran and a member of the Eagles Lodge #302 and St. Thomas Catholic Church. Surviving are his wife, Margaret M. Hollingsworth Caw, of the home; a daughter, Sally (Robert) Embree of Zanesville; a son, Joe (Deborah) Caw of Shellsburg, IA; two sisters, Bessie Ault of VA. and Patricia (Edsel) Pletcher of Zanesville; three brothers, Charles and Frank Caw of Zanesville and Robert (Shirley) Caw of Newark; three grandchildren, Michelle (Jonathon) Sayre of Dayton, Robert J. Embree and Jessica Embree of Zanesville and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Edna West and two brothers, Harvey and Dillard Caw. Friends may call 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 7, 2008 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville with a vigil service at 3:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at the funeral home with a Dominican Father officiating. Burial will follow at Williams Cemetery with VFW George Selsam Post 1058 holding full military rites at the gravesite.
