Earl Bryan Wiley

Earl Bryan Wiley, 94, of Zanesville, died at 1:45 p.m. on Friday, March 4, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. Earl was born January 3, 1922 in Noble County, a son of the late Rufus "Jay" and Ruth Pickenpaugh Wiley. Earl earned his bachelor's and master's degree while attending Ohio University and Michigan State University. He was a high school teacher at Zanesville High School and an avid sports fan. He enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers and the Buckeyes play. Earl was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Ohio Retired Teachers Association and Muskingum Valley Old Timers Association. Earl was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart. Surviving are his loving wife Velma Bernadine Beach Wiley of the home; his six children, Patricia (Jerry) Davis, Ruth Anne (Rick) Farrington, Bradley Bryan (Konny) Wiley, Peggy (Jason) McLane, Lynne Beckley (Ed Bushey) and Alan (Elizabeth) Wiley; twenty-five grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and a sister Doris Ann Greiner. Friends and family may call from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE where the funeral will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 9, 2016. Earl will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery where full military honors will be provided by the United States Army in conjunction with the VFW George Selsam Post 1058 and the American Legion Post #29.
