Edna M. Garlinger, 82, of Zanesville, died at 11:45 p.m. Friday, June 26, 2009 at her residence. She was born October 13, 1926, in Louisville, KY., the daughter of the late Dennis and Jettie Church Moore. Mrs. Garlinger was a former nurses aid. Surviving are two daughters, Betty Compton of Zanesville and Patty Howard of Mesa AZ.; a son, John (Sherry) Collind of Tomball TX.; two sisters, Ruth (Edward) Fraley of Peebles, Ohio and Alice Rigsby of Waverly, Ohio; 9 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Garlinger; two sons, Paul and Chuck Collins; two brothers, Elmer and Floyd Moore; and one grandson Larry Compton Jr. No calling hours will be observed and a caring cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville is entrusted with all arrangements.
