Edward G. Barker

Edward G. Barker, 76, of Hebron, died at 1:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Mt. Carmel East, Columbus. He was born January 4, 1946, in Zanesville, a son of the late James William and Anne I. Beach Barker. Edward loved to hunt, and he enjoyed being outside in the garden and flower beds. He also loved to mow his grass, but mostly he just liked to ride and talk to people. He was a country and blue grass music fan, and he really liked passing the time by going for rides and going out to eat.

He is survived by his soul mate of 25 years, Cathie Jackson; two sons, Greg (Mandy) Barker and Brad (Keela) Barker; two step-daughters, Michelle (Rodney Hindel) Gard and Chris (Dave) Creameans; a step son Jerry Jackson Jr.; eleven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; three brothers, Charles Barker, Fred (Penny) Barker and Jim (Gloria) Barker; a sister Myrna (Harold) Fesler; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and lifelong hunting buddy Buck Smith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Keith Phillips and Dick Phillips; and three sisters, Clara Wickham, Melba Mercer and Patty Hardin.

Friends and family may call from 12:00 P.M. until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio 43701, with Pastor Jamie Harrop officiating. He will be laid to rest at St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, Stovertown.
