Edward John Labaki, 85, of Zanesville, a local entrepreneur of South Zanesville, left this life at 3:58 A.M. Thursday, February 7, 2013, at Highland Oaks Health Center, McConnellsville. He was born July 6, 1927, in Dillonvale, OH, the son of the late Shaheed and Nacema Batross Labaki. Edward was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and a U. S. Veteran of the Korean War. Some of Mr. Labaki's enterprises were Pet Motors, Muskingum Auto Parts, Kawasaki Motorcycles, Putnam Point, Putnam Tavern and Muskingum Sales. Surviving are his beloved wife of 58 years, Marilyn Kay Williams Labaki, of the home; a daughter Sue Ann (Charles) Ashcraft of Newark; four sons, David (Denise), Dan (Mary), Sam and Steve (Sally) Labaki, all of Zanesville; eleven grandchildren, Nacema (Joe) Sommers, Whitney James, Eric Labaki and Cassandra, Bridget and Stephen Labaki, Amber (Nick) Jarret, Josh (Darcy) Dusenbery, Erica Dusenbery, Heather (Brandon) Harris and Lindsay Ashcraft; six great grandchildren, Cassadee, Mollie and Natalee Jarrett, Maci Dusenbery, Kensley Harris and Addyson Hubble and two sisters, Mary E. Swope, and Martha West, both of Zanesville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, Emil, and John Labaki. Friends and family may call 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 10, 2013, with a Vigil Service being held at 7:00 P.M. at Bolin- Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville OH 43701. Mass of a Christian Burial will be held Monday, February 11, 2013, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Thomas Catholic Church, 144 N. 5th Street, Zanesville, OH 43701 with a Dominican Father officiating. Edward will be laid to rest at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Zanesville.
