Effie Frances Chema

Effie Frances Chema, 82, of Zanesville, died at 8:35 a.m. Saturday, October 21, 2006 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. She was born August 6, 1925 in Muskingum Co. a daughter of the late William Russell and Nellie Frances Kronenbitter Ballenger. She was a longtime resident of Putnam Avenue, was the Owner & Operator of Poor Pauls Cafe and was the treasurer for REACT for over 30 years. Surviving are two daughters; Fran Chema of Wintersville and Sandy Avery of Richardson, Texas, two grandsons, Mark Avery of Atlanta, Georgia and Eric (Jenny) Avery of Houston, Texas, two sisters; Mary Lou Nader of South Zanesville and Wanda Dozer of New Port Richey, Florida, a niece, Karen Robbins of South Zanesville, a nephew, Terry (Karen) Caw of New Port Richey, Florida, grandniece; Angie ( Brad) Thompson of South Zanesville and a grandnephew; Bobby Robbins of South Zanesville. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Chema Jr., whom she married June 29, 1946 and who died in 1975. No calling hours will be observed. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Zanesville, Ohio with Rev. D. Scott Johnston officiating. Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville entrusted with all arrangements.
