Eleanor L. Snider, 100, of Zanesville, died at 9:55 a.m. Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at her residence. She was born August 17, 1910, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Marion and Margaret Savage Walpole. Eleanor graduated from Lash High School. She retired as a teacher for Starlight Workshop and was a member of Central Trinity United Methodist Church for 83 years. She is survived by a son, Carl (Carol) Snider Jr. of Nashport; a daughter, Carolyn Sue Snider of the home; three grandchildren, Connie (Guy) Ring of Zanesville, Craig (Tammy) Snider of Powell and Carla (Keith) Bell of Philo; eight great grandchildren, Ryan, Ellen and Matt Ring, Josh, Kyra and Michael Snider and Lane and Maiah Bell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Snider Sr., who died September 11, 1960; and a brother, Walter Walpole. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, December 9, 2010 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 10, 2010 at the funeral home with Rev. Tom England officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
