Elfrances Aregood Erwin

Elfrances Aregood Erwin, 89, of 477 Radcliff Drive Westerville, Ohio, died at St. Ann's of Mount Carmel Health System in Westerville. She was born in Union City, Indiana on January 12, 1915. She was the daughter of John Aregood and Anna Pieper Aregood. Elfrances, "Fran", married Robert C. Erwin of Cleveland Heights, Ohio. They met while attending the University of Texas and lived their early years in Texas, later moving to Hudson, Ohio before settling in Duncan Falls, Ohio. "Fran" is the wife of her late husband, Robert C. Erwin who passed away on June 28, 1988. Surviving are two daughters: Ms. Connie Erwin of Pagosa Springs, Colorado and Westerville, Ohio and Mrs. Hal Schreiber of Massachusetts. She is survived by five grandsons, one granddaughter, and three great grandchildren. Elfrances spent a great part of her life in the educational field and was listed in "Who's Who of American Educators", as well as being honored twice as one of the outstanding teachers of America. Elfrances was a Junior League member of Texas where she completed many hours of service. Other clubs and organizations were: Weslaco Women's Study Club, The Delta Women's Pioneer Club of Texas, The Country Club of Hudson, The Country Club of Zanesville, South Bethesda League Member, Grace United Methodist Church, and Junior Women's Club of Zanesville. Mrs. Erwin was extremely proud of the fact that she, with her ancestors, helped pioneer the Lower Rio Grand Valley, of Texas. A private memorial service shall be held at Newman's Creek, Cemetery, North Lawrence, Ohio. An additional service shall be held in Fort Lewis Chapel, Durango, Colorado. The Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville, Ohio is in charge of all the arrangements.
