Elizabeth Anne Anderson, 67, of Zanesville, died at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at her home. She was born April 24, 1942, in Warren, Ohio a daughter of the late Norman Charles and Anne Williamson Smith. She was a member of First Christian Church, graduated from Hiram College with a BA, Oberlin Seminary with a Master's Degree in Religious Education, Kent State University with a BA in Education and Ohio University with a Masters Degrees in Special Education. She was a Kindergarten Teacher for Munson Elementary from 1979-1987, Wilson Elementary from 1987-1990 and taught at Early Intervention Program at McIntire Elementary from 1990-1997. Elizabeth organized local Crop Walks for close to 10 years and helped raise thousands of dollars to fight hunger in Zanesville and around the world, she belonged to the Church Women United and Christian Women's Fellowship. She was the Arthritis Foundation Volunteer of the Year in 2006 Surviving are her loving husband, Hans W. "Bill" Anderson III, of the home whom she married March 18, 1967 in Cortland Christian Church, Cortland, Ohio, a daughter, Julie Marie (Richard) Baxter of Avondale; two sons, Jeremy (Michelle Hayward) Anderson of Chicago, IL. and Christopher Todd Anderson of Sedona, Arizona; two grandchildren, Lakota Lyall and Sierra Baxter. Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Sunday, July 5, 2009 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville, and one hour prior to services at the church. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 6, 2009 at First Christian Church, 3000 Dresden Road, Zanesville with Rev. Dawn Remster officiating. Entombment will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park.
