Ellis L. Kirkbride, 93, of Lake Wales, Florida, formerly of Zanesville, died at 2:31 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at Winter Haven Hospital, Winter Haven, Florida. He was born November 27, 1917, in Zanesville, a son of the late Otis W. and Pearl Humphrey Kirkbride. Ellis retired from Armco Steel as a Crane operator. He was a member of the Coburn United Methodist Church, LaFayette Lodge #79 F&AM, Zanesville Chapter #9, Zanesville Council #12, Cyrene Commandery #10, Amrou Grotto #52, Zavi Shrine Club, Past Worthy Patron, Eastern Star #485, Rosa Shrine #8, Aladdin Temple Shrine, Amaranth #36 and the Elks Club #1974 in Lake Wales, Florida. He was a United States Army World War II Veteran. Surviving are a nephew, Paul (Jean) Miller of Duncan Falls; our family in Florida, Mary Lou and Bill Martin, Sally Henderson, nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Louise R. Evans Kirkbride, who died December 24, 2006; two brothers, Woodrow Kirkbride and Kenneth Eugene Kirkbride; and a sister, Juanita Miller. Friends and family may call from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville where LaFayette Lodge #79 will hold services at 6:00 p.m. and Eastern Star #485 will hold services at 6:15 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at the funeral home with Rev. Doris Flynn officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his wife Louise at Zanesville Memorial Park. The U.S. Army with the assistance of VFW George Selsam Post 1058 will hold full military rites at the grave.
