Ellis H. Wilson

Ellis "Les" Wilson passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2012 at Autumn Healthcare of Zanesville. Les was born on July 17, 1921 in Pomeroy, Ohio to the late Roy H. and Tacy L. Hysell Wilson. He was a 1940 graduate of Lash High School of Zanesville. He worked in retail sales (Bintz Furniture, Sears, Thompson Furniture and Coconis Furniture) in the Zanesville area all of his adult life. He enjoyed sailing and golf. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Les is survived by his wife of 45 years, Velma (Aldridge) Wilson, whom he married July 22, 1967; his daughter, Nancy (Mark) Mechling of Duncan Falls; his sisters, Marilyn Berkshire of Lancaster and Evelyn Wilson Miller of Zanesville. He is also survived by nephews, Jeff, Doug and Brad Miller, Steve and Stan Wooley, Gary Berkshire; and a niece, Rhonda Corbin. Les was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Geraldine Pace. Calling hours will be observed one hour prior to the funeral service which will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville, with Pastor Dean Cole officiating. Burial will follow in Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Les Wilson to the Muskingum County Animal Shelter, 1430 Newark Road, Zanesville, or to Grace United Methodist Church, 516 Shinnick Street, Zanesville.
