Elnora Catherine Wheeler Miller, 76, of Zanesville, passed from this life to the next at 11:16 A.M. on Thursday, June 13, 2013, at Adams Lane Care Center. She was born August 24, 1936, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Lloyd D. and June R. Williams Wheeler. She had worked as a waitress/bartender for many local restaurants in Dresden and Zanesville, and was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #1058 where she was known for doing the poppy displays and won 1st place at least one year. Elnora was an avid bowler, golfer, enjoyed crocheting, and loved doing picture and crossword puzzles. Surviving are her five children, Leslie (Nancy) Shumate, Gregory Shumate, Timothy (Barbara) Shumate, Peggy Shumate, and Kimberly (Ronald) Mayle; a step-son Michael Miller; eight grandchildren, JR, Ricky, Jackie, Michael, Catherine, Stephen, Nicole, and Logan; and twelve great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Roger E. Miller; her first husband Clarence L. Shumate; two sisters, Bernice Johnson and Eileen Leasure; three brothers, Clifford Wheeler, Bob Wheeler, and Donald Williams; and a great grandchild Malik SeSay. No calling hours will be observed and a dignified cremation has taken place. Arrangements were entrusted to the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville.
