Elva Louise Henery Kisling went home to be with her Lord, Thursday, May 15, 2008. Elva was 99 years old and a member of the Market Street Baptist Church, where she was the oldest living member. She was born February 18, 1909, in Morgan County, to Sextus and Izetti Scott Henery. She enjoyed telling everyone stories about life on the "ridge". Elva was a great cook and passed on her skills of homemade rolls and fresh apple cakes to family, friends and later to her special care givers. She also enjoyed crocheting, making many afghans and baby outfits. Elva was an avid baseball fan and never missed an opportunity to let the "Cincinnati Reds" know how they were playing. Surviving are nieces, Louise Liggitt, Letha Nabb, Lillian (Bill) Smith, Leah (Ron) Smith and nephew, Gary (Sandy) Bowles. Many other family members extending to five generations will sadly miss and fondly remember "Aunt Elva". In addition to her parents, Elva was preceded in death by her husband, Harold "Kis" Kisling, whom she married October 23, 1939; siblings, Thelma, Wealtha and Leroy and several nieces and nephews.
