Emagene S. Shelton, age 80, of Zanesville, Ohio, died at 5:35 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2005 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. She was born April 22, 1925 in Glenford, Ohio, the daughter of the late Frank B. & Bessie Campbell Shelly. She was a retired school teacher for the Muskingum County and Zanesville City Schools. She was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Y-City Women's Club, The Retired Teachers Association of Ohio, and a Good Samaritan Volunteer. She was also a graduate of Muskingum College. Surviving are two daughters, Jane Ellen (James) Dugan of Kure Beach, North Carolina and Susan (Frank) Scharfenstein of Boiling Springs, South Carolina, a son, Clay Andrew (Kathleen) Shelton of Westerville, Ohio, a sister, Betty Loughman of Atlanta, Georgia, four grandchildren, Jayna Reagan, B. J. Reagan, Jodi Shelton, and Ian Shelton, a step great grandchild Ava Fowler, and many loving nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Shelton, a sister, Lucille Hamilton, and a brother, Willard Shelly. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 2, 2005 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Keith Lingsch officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park.
