Emilene C. (Coury) Morrison

Emilene C. Morrison, 89, of Zanesville, died at 3:02 P.M. on Friday, February 8, 2013, at Genesis Hospice- Morrison House. She was born April 5, 1923, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Anton and Tasia Emrod Coury. She worked in the family businesses, Imperial Market and Imperial Bar, and was a long time member of St. James Episcopal Church. Surviving are a sister Louise (Dr. Joseph) McElhaney of Zanesville; a brother Herbert Coury of Zanesville; and several nieces and nephews, including Dr. Joe McElhaney of Brooklyn, NY, Diann (Jeff) Fish of Pickerington, and Joan Mohler of Zanesville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Merle D. Morrison, whom she married May 31, 1953, who died April 3, 2008 and two brothers, Edward Coury and Fred Coury. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, February 11, 2013, at St. James Episcopal Church, 155 North 6th Street, Zanesville, with Father Rob Willmann officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. She will be laid to rest beside her husband, Merle, at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville. Arrangements were entrusted to the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Genesis Hospice-Morrison House: 713 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio 43701; or to the St. James Episcopal Church: 155 North 6th Street, Zanesville, Ohio, 43701.
