Emmitt David Hickman, 85, of Zanesville, died at 1:20 P.M. on Thursday, December 18, 2014, at the Adams Lance Care Center. He was born October 15, 1929, in Monroe, MO, a son of the late Homer Dee and Jeanette Adams Hickman. He traveled with the circus as a young man and had a lifetime fascination of the circus life. He worked 30 years as a Liaison Officer at the Newark Air Force Base, was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict, and in his retirement enjoyed running a concession trailer at fairs and festivals. Surviving are a step-daughter Kelly (Ed) Saliba of Zanesville; a brother Earl (Faye) Hickman of St. Charles, MO, a sister-in-law Arlene Hickman of Zanesville; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving companion Myrna Hartman, who died March 6, 2003; a sister Katherine Valentine; and three brothers, Wayne, Homer Eugene, and William Kenneth Hickman. The family will hold a graveside service at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville, at a later date.
