Eola Mae (Fauley) Scheffler

May 16, 1916 — November 19, 2011

Eola Mae Scheffler, 95, formerly of Zanesville, died at 12:45 a.m. on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at Kobacker House - HomeReach Hospice. She was born May 16, 1916, in Roseville, a daughter of the late Clyde and Elsie Fauley. Eola was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and her family though most of all she loved being a homemaker. Eola was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, where she volunteered for numerous activities and dinners. She was a member of a bowling league for over 50 years, and bowled her last game at age 88. She was a proud lifetime member of The Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary and a dedicated volunteer for Christ's Table. Though changes in her health prohibited her full participation in family activities in recent years, her family will forever hold dear the memories of the loving care she provided for them throughout her life. She was always willing to stop whatever she was doing to provide a listening ear for a child or grandchild. She loved decorating for holidays and looked forward to spring when her love of plants provided a colorful array of flowers outdoors. Her abilities in organizing and maintaining her home were akin to those of Harriet Nelson. Eola will be sadly missed. Surviving are a son, Jim (Jane) Scheffler of Hamilton, OH; a daughter, Sally Scheffler of Dublin, OH; two grandchildren, Andy (Janie) Scheffler of Hamilton, OH and Alana Scheffler of Columbus, OH; four great grandchildren, Dan, Drew, Nik and Emma; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Bob Scheffler; two brothers, Marion and Burgess Fauley; and a sister, Martha Flippo. Friends and family may call from noon until time of service at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 21, 2011 with Chaplain Tim Patton officiating at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Eola will be laid to rest next to her husband, Bob, at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
